the caterpilar is an office of architecture based in Bergamo working in the multidisciplinary field of interior architecture, forniture design, architectural photography and graphic design.
-My design approach seeks to change continously the point of view to create the unexpected. My work blends curiosity and functionality, innovation and attention to details, always searching for new creative challenge.
Caterina Pilar Palumbo
M.Sc. in Architecture, Caterina Pilar is an architect, designer and photographer. Graduated from Politecnico di Milano in 2012 and postgraduated in museography and design of archeological site with an internship at Vaticans Museum. She attended to MOOC’s courses at University of Tokyo with professor Kengo Kuma. She worked between Milan and Bergamo with Elena Cerizza, Caravatti+Caravatti, Studio Cardenas and De8 Architetti.
Caterina was also co-founder of spoon.CITY with Lucia Rampanti, an online platform that wins Raffaele Sirica Award at Festa dell’Architetto 2015.
-Furthermore she is editing manager of Architette-archiwomen edited by Rebelarchitette that promote equity rights in the profession.
Since 2019 she has run a kitchen design column on Architempore blog and furthermore she has been Archiproducts‘ ambassador.
She enhanced her interest in reuse of unused space during her thesis project, the participation to several workshops and as tutor at Politecnico di Milano international seminar with professor Isabella Inti.
In 2013 she exhibited during Milan Design Week at Università Statale di Milano.
-Her photos are published on several architectural websites and magazines such as Home!, Come Ristrutturare la Casa, architetti.com, La Repubblica, Divisare.
